Justice Ministerial Forum 2021
This Tuesday, 12 October, the Justice Ministerial Forum 2021 takes place, with the participation of the Minister of Justice.
Digital Justice Ministerial Forum
Francisca Van Dunem participates in the online event, the organisation of which was announced in the Commission Communication on the digitalisation of justice in the European Union of 2 December 2020.
The Forum will focus on the digital transition of justice systems in the European Union, highlighting the challenges and opportunities in this area and will be organised in three sessions:
- The digital transformation of justice at national level and its impact at EU level;
- Overall EU approach to digitalisation / general principles and needs of the various legal professions and society
- EU cross-border judicial cooperation: Present and future needs of Justice and Home Affairs (JHA) agencies and bodies.
In her speech, the Minister of Justice will address the issue of the digitalisation of justice at national level, with the use of new technologies such as videoconferencing and Artificial Intelligence tools, which was one of the priorities of the recent Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the European Union in the area of justice.
